Every book is a manipulation 👀 A writer is more likely to use the words or slangs common in his era when writing a story especially if he's trying to show the audience of the injustice happening in their society. But racism has and still exists in a lot of books, sometimes it's put there intentionally and other times it's just there without the knowledge of the author, slipped into the words silently because it's a normal thing in their society at that time.  Like in a novel written by a Pakistani, one might present the sacrifice of a women for a man as something expected and mandatory. Now this might seem racist to some people within or out of Pakistan, people who belong to a different mindset or society. Just like the movies, books also have all kinds of dirt.
